A Must-Visit Spot in Busan: Cheonggyeok Dakgalbi Review 🍴
Hello! Today, I'm sharing my review of Cheonggyeok, a hidden gem near Sasang Station in Busan. This is a true local favorite, known for its exceptional dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken).
If you're planning a trip to Busan, make sure to add this place to your list—it’s an absolute “must-visit spot in Busan.”

📍 Location and Parking Info
1️⃣ Location:
Cheonggyeok is just a 5-minute walk from Sasang Station, making it very accessible by public transportation.
2️⃣ Parking:
No need to worry if you’re driving!
The Miso Parking Lot (50m from the restaurant) offers 1 hour of free parking for diners.
In a city like Busan, where parking can be challenging, this is a huge advantage. 🚗💨
⏰ Hours and Tips for Visiting
- Hours: 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM
- Closed: Every Monday
- Pro Tip:
- Cheonggyeok operates on weekends and public holidays but may close early if ingredients run out.
- If you're planning a late-night or holiday visit, it's best to call ahead!
My Experience:
I visited on a Saturday around 12:20 PM, and luckily, there was no line.
There were already four groups dining inside when I arrived. 🍽️

🍗 Honest Taste Review
1️⃣ Fresh Ingredients
- Chicken: Juicy and well-trimmed, with no fatty or bony bits, thanks to the meticulous prep by the owner.
- Vegetables: Fresh cabbage, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and onions filled the dish to the brim.
- Rice Cakes: A mix of cheese rice cakes, sweet potato rice cakes, and traditional rice cakes added variety.
2️⃣ Sauce Flavor
- Not overly sweet or greasy—just clean, savory, and slightly spicy.
- You can choose between mild or spicy levels. I opted for spicy, which was perfect—just shy of the heat level of "Fire Noodles."
- → Ideal for those who enjoy a mature, bold flavor rather than overly sweet or childish tastes.
🍴 Generous Portions
Even with my big appetite (and after a morning workout), I couldn’t finish everything. 😮
Two servings of dakgalbi with udon noodles and minari were more than enough for two adults, leaving some to take home.
The portions are large enough for two hungry diners to eat to their hearts' content.
😊 Outstanding Service and a Place Worth Revisiting
- The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
- It's rare to find a restaurant in Busan that combines great food with such warm hospitality.
This was my second visit, and I’m already looking forward to going back.
Cheonggyeok truly deserves the title of “a must-visit local favorite in Busan.”
